Overview: Edarbi (azilsartan) is used to treat high blood pressure. It works by helping your blood vessels relax. The most common side effect is diarrhea. Less commonly, serious side effects can happen, such as low blood pressure or kidney problems. Tell your health care provider right away if you have dizziness, fainting, a reduced need to pee, unusual tiredness, or diarrhea that does not go away.

Uses

What is Edarbi used for?

Edarbi (azilsartan) is commonly used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension).

Edarbi may also be used for other conditions as determined by your health care provider.

How does Edarbi work (mechanism of action)?

Edarbi blocks receptors in your body that normally bind to a hormone called angiotensin II. When angiotensin II binds to these receptors, it causes your blood vessels to constrict. Blocking these receptors help your blood vessels relax so that blood can move through them more easily. This can help lower blood pressure and may reduce your risk for heart attack and stroke.
