switched from Asacol to Delzicol because of manufacturing issues. Objected to the price increase. The new medicine is not as good as Asacol. 6 weeks after starting taking this med, I am in the middle of a flareup like i have not had in over 10 years. My last flare was 4-5 years ago and was mild compared to this. Delzicol is the old Asacol, repackaged so they can get more profits.

I have been on Apriso for about two months now and am finally seeing good results. Still having cramping and occasional loose stools but they seem to be less than before I started the drug. I can actually go far a whole day now without having diarrhea several times. Big change.

I love this drug. It has kept me in remission for 10 years. I've had UC for 53 years. Early years used generic Mesalazine. That's all i was ever prescribed in the 1960's - 1990's Never fully controlled , though. Some remissions for a year or more at times. Then a great Dr Prescribed Pentasa. My Insurance wanted generic . but dr refused , expensive co pay was worth it. Now I am not able to qualify for Health insurance Because of several per existing conditions. I pay full price myself.... It's cheaper at Costco. When I'm feeling good I have reduced dose to 2 a day But do better with 4 a day. My spiritual life plays a big part of remission also. Keep praying Read More Read Less

At first I was skeptical of this med and didn't think it was going to work, but after about a month I began to notice a difference. My stools were much less frequent and also formed which was a huge difference. Eventually I was fairly regular until I screwed up on my mail order prescription and did not have the med for about two weeks, then my symptoms came back. I have been a lot more regular again now that I am back on it. I have noticed that certain foods trigger diarrhea but that is normal f... or crohns anyway. I also take a multivitamin, vit c, b, d, echinecea, and probiotics, the combination has worked really well for me and I have avoided being sick for the most part. The only side effect that I have from the med is that I seem to have an occasional headache, and also a faster heart rate than usual, but I'll take that instead of where I was before. I have already written a review but afterwards I read a lot of the others, I'm troubled by the report of all the side effects,I have a lot of these problems but never attributed them to Lialda because I have Fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic fatique,IC and other things so not sure if it's from the meds or not.One thing I read that does concern me that I will get checked is someone said they had a high creatine level and renal failure which worries me. Thus the reaason for my second review,do I have... something to worry about or not? Read More Read Less

I was extremely sick w/UC for some time prior to being treated w/ Lialda. This medication has really improved my situation a lot.I still have nasty flares but I'm not sick daily like I was before.

I am a 44 year old female who was diagnosed with UC 9 months ago. I had problems with loose stools and frequency/urgency for many years, but when the bleeding started I had a colonoscopy last year and was diagnosed w/moderate UC. That is when I started Asacol 2 tabs, 3 x a day. It was a miracle drug! For the first time in my adult life, my bowel habits were normal. Bleeding stopped with 2-3 days, I was down to 1-2 movements per day. Have been on same regiment up until last month when bleeding s... ymptom returned. Gastro increased my ASA to 4 tabs, 3 times a day to get past this flare. It has been a week, and so far, no relief. Bleeding not bad, but seeing any blood is disturbing. I am hopeful to be able to stay on ASA, cause it has changed my life, with no side effects like others mention, at least yet, and do want to lower dose again, as soon as possible. The cost is outrageous though, I am thankful to insurance co, or I couldn't afford it. Hopeful it will go generic sometime soon to lower cost. Hopeful my flare will pass with this temp med increase, not sure why this is occurring now cause I feel better than I have for years. Would recommend, in spite of current issue. Read More Read Less

Diagnosed with UC in 2008. Put on Asacol, 12 pills per day with reoccurring flares. I have been switched to Lialda, now over 2 years ago. 4 pills per day with no flares and no side affects.

hair loss not common? ARE YOU KIDDING? If I knew ahead of time - I might not be so shocked. Prepare patients to lose over 50 - 60 % of their hair on this drug!!

Have been on several different medications over the last few years but this one has worked the best by far. Immediatly after I started taking it joint pain stopped. The only time I really have problems now is in the morning or if I eat wrong. The pills are hard to take due to size. (Wouldn't be sooo bad if I only took apriso) Have not gone into remission but I am much btter.
