I have been on the drug for about 9 months. I was in and out of the hospital for 3 months and 3 days after I started Lialda I was pain free. I take it 2 times a day and have tried to go to 1 a day but had a flair up so went back to 2. No side effects and feel like my old self again.

After years of being on a maintenance program of Asacol, an increased dosage of Asacol along with Rowasa could not bring a flare-up condition under control. Switching to two Lialda tablets per day produced a noticeable improvement within a few days, and I have been mostly symptom free for the past 9 months.

After a full year of Lialda (4 pills in the morning), I still had almost daily symptoms. Rowasa enemas help the most. Doc just switched me to Asacol.

My rheumatologist prescribed Asacol for my ankylosing spondylitis (autoimmune arthritis). I took it for a couple of days and noticed I sometimes felt like vomiting. I stopped taking it and it got better. However, when i went to the doctor after two weeks, he told me to start taking it again and made me feel like an idiot for saying anything was wrong with my stomach. He seems to think there is no possible way it could hurt my stomach. I started taking it again about 2 weeks ago like he said. I e... ven increased my Prevacid to twice a day! My nausea, stomach upset, dizziness, and headaches have been getting worse and worse. I am constantly uncomfortable and it is very unsettling. Every other day or so I either throw up or almost throw up. I've been sleeping with something next to my bed to throw up in just in case. I am very unhappy with this medication and starting tomorrow will not take it anymore and see what happens. I hope this review helps you! Read More Read Less

I was diagnosed with Chrons about 2 or 3 weeks ago and have been taking 4 pills 4x a day. I haven't had any side effects at all and I feel a lot better. Hopefully I won't have to take it long because my insurance does not cover it and its $500 a month...

I love Lialda! I take it along with Imuran. I take one dose in the AM (4pills) and the Imuran(100mg)at night. My symptoms still come and go, but I am much better about taking and staying with my regiment. I strongly suggest this medication if you are sick of taking several doses of medication a day.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in Feb. '08. The doctor prescribed this medication take 2 pills 4x a day. After only 3 days on this medication I had to be taken off of it. I had a hard time getting the pills down, getting worse than I was. Once, the doctor took me off what a difference it made.
