The pills are very easy to swallow. It is wonderful to have to take only 2 pills per day.

Diagnosed with Crohn's in 1980. Have use Asacol and others with nausea as a result. Tried smaller dose, but was not as effective. Started Lialda in Sept. '09 and have not had an episode. Relief to me, but my insurance does not cover this brand so may have to change. Not fair!

I was diagnosis with UC 12/2009. I was original prescribed 2-800 mg tablets 3 times a day. Asacol is very expensive it cost me $561 dollars for a months supply at the original dosage. My symptoms got much worse. My doctor has increased the dosage to 4-800 mg tablets 3 times a day. 9600 mg per day concerns me! My liver function test was elevated. My doctor is changing me to Lialda,

After taking about two weeks' worth of samples from my doctor, I could see no change - still 4 or more bowel movements daily and very loose ones at that. I don't think it helped at all. It was so easy to take, however.

I have only been taking this medicine for less than one month for Crohn's Disease. I do not feel much better than I did before I began taking this medicine. I wake up early mornings with horrible stomach pains and have slight headaches throughout my day, as well as feeling fatigue. I do not feel that this medicine has helped much with my symptoms.

I was on Asacol for about 15 years. During that time, I was usually in remission (though still with symptoms) but had flares about twice per year -- sometimes serious (blood loss, surgery, etc). After my old doc retired, my new doc tells me that recent studies show that Asacol is no more effective than a placebo. I believe her, and won't take Asacol again.

I was on Asacol for over 10 years. It worked wonderful. 12 pills daily. My latest flare up wasn't really a flare up. I had the N1H1 flu and it interfered with my UC. However, Dr's not aware at the time and put me on prednisone. Had bad reactions and was slowly weaned off of it. But since, have been on Lialda, about 3 months now. Have experience extreme swelling in legs and feet (carry over from prednisone, but not going away) extreme weight gain and knee and joint pain. I am not sure if it... 's all due to the Lialda, but I'm tired of my feet swelling so bad I can't put shoes on, or my socks dig into my legs due to the swelling. I am on a weight loss program. Gained 11 lbs in 2 months. I am going to either go back to Asacol or change doctors! Read More Read Less
