Having taken Lialda for several years, I switched to this generic and am experiencing massive hair loss. Not worth the savings on generic vs name brand.

Have been on Apriso for 1-1/2 years. First 6 months 4 a day, then the past year 2 a day for maintenance as symptoms are gone. Had a follow-up colonoscopy last month and results show no evidence of colitis!!! First clean colonoscopy since I was diagnosed over 20 years ago! No adverse reaction to this drug. Would highly recommend it.

I was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis/ proctitis. I was first advised I may have had hemorrhoids and after a colonoscopy that was proven wrong. I have been on this medication for about 1 month and started to see results within the 1st week of use. I am very happy as I have struggled with bloody, mucus diarrhea stools for 5 years. Now I have a normal bm.

Took this medication for Chron's disease for just over a month I had more flare ups on this than my entire life! I've strictly followed the proper diet. Unfortunately it's the only drug I can take right now for this disease due to other health complications I stopped taking it several days ago and now I feel heaps better!

I was on it in 2011 and took it until 2013. I never had any issues during that time while taking it. I had my routine colonoscopy in Feb 2015 and all was good. Back in March 2016, I had my second flare-up. I told my doctor I know I'm having a flare-up, but he gave me a lot of tests to do of course. Finally, in October 2016, he sees that I am having a flare-up (I had an sigmonscopy...spelling?). I was placed on 4 pills a day of lialda and I was back to normal within a week! It was great. A month... later, I'm on my maintenance dose of 3 pills a day. Still having no issues! It works for me. I probably should've stayed on it and I might have never had that second flare-up... My son was diagnosed with mild/moderate Crohn's in late 2015. He was 15 at the time of diagnosis and has been on 4000mg of Pentasa per day. My son experienced no side effects. Pentasa appears to be ineffective in my son's case since tests in Aug '16 showed worsening of the condition. My son's doctor increased dosage to 4500mg/day and was able to get approval for Remicade. My son received his first Remicade infusion several days ago.

After being misdiagnosed with IBS-D for decades, finally got the proper diagnosis for UC and started treatment with Lialda less than 1 year ago. I was able to leave the house and drive to work without much concern about bathroom locations. It seemed a miracle drug until a routine blood test showed kidney damage. I have never had any kidney trouble in my life until I was on Lialda for less than a year. Now I am off Lialda and waiting on a renal doctor's evaluation. I should have known it was... too good to be true. Read More Read Less

I was on Asacol for years, and did not have the flare-up I have with Delizcol. I was told it was the very same drug as Asacol, but if you check, the active ingredients are the same but the inactive ingredients are totally different. I have been on this drug for about 2 years, and have had nothing but problems. I go back to the Dr. in November, if now before, and we are going to have to try something else. I have been taking the pill out of the covering because my stomach would not digest it,... but still no luck with any help from this drug..... Read More Read Less

I have used this drug for my UC about 12montsh on or off-the only side affect I get are the headaches and slight lower back pains. I stop when using when my flare ups are gone. My flares have been less and less. But when I do get them Delzicol stops the bleeding immediately regulates my stomach. The reason I dont take everyday because Im super sensitive to medication. Prolong use cause issues for me in other areas. However that being said this is one of the UC meds that by far have helped me m... ore then anything else out there in the market. Read More Read Less

I have Crohn's / Ulcerative Colitis. Apparently I've had this most of my life although flare ups were very uncommon. I always thought I had IBS-D until my last colonoscopy. I've been on several different medications - Pentasa, Budesonide and now Lialda. Lialda seems to be the most effective for me at this point, although I've experienced weight gain (went from 178 to 195 lbs in two months) and still have flare ups, but not as frequent as in prior month. I'm going back to my MD today to talk abou... t other alternatives. The weight gain really bothers me. I've come to recognize some triggers (stress) and try to avoid them, but unfortunately one of those triggers is my job and I can't just walk away from it. Good luck to everyone. Read More Read Less

This medication is a little expensive, but it is very worth it for me. Little to no side-effects and the medication has all but taken my symptoms away.

I have been taking Lialda for 2 months 2 times a day in the morning. It has worked for me! The only thing I have experienced is weight gain. I am not sure if it's because of me or not but that has been annoying. And, my hair does seem thinner. I am 24 years old and 120 pounds. I think the 2 pills a day is an appropriate amount for me to take. I can stop taking them here soon and I hope I lose the extra weight and I hope my bathroom problems are resolved! I do recommend this product!

Caused excess weight gain in short time frame. No not due to symptoms going away, had been symptom free for years.

It works, I'm in remission. I'm just confused as to why I have to swallow 4 horse pills that are half empty, a smaller capsule would help with swallowing.
